I am a self-taught photographer, digital printer, and writer. I recently closed my technical writing business to devote myself full-time to photography. In my current photographic work, I start with film, scan the images, and then use Adobe® Photoshop® to do minimal editing and manipulation. I produce both black and white and color prints using pigmented inks and archival paper. My black and white printing method produces carbon ink prints with a tonal range equal to or exceeding chemically processed black and white prints.
My photographic studies center around abandoned treasures. From desiccated flowers to steam trains and about-to-be demolished buildings, I explore the beauty that remains in subjects that are often no longer considered beautiful, practical, or useful.
Current Photographic Projects:
Several series based on an "Abandoned Treasures" theme consisting of images of items found discarded or no longer/seldom used in various locations.
A series based on the interplay of light and shadows with various types of glass including commercial, blown and stained glass.
A prospective book combining my poetry and the photographs that triggered the poems.
